DESCRIPTION

MARBLECRETE and MARBLETITE are traditional cementitious exterior textured finish coats. They provide a variety of textures and can be colorized to meet a variety of aesthetic demands. MARBLECRETE is a silica based product for economy applications. MARBLETITE is a marble based product for high end applications.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Vapor permeable
Excellent workability
A hard, durable surface
A low maintenance coating
Proven weather and fire resistance
Standard & custom colors available

USES

MARBLECRETE and MARBLETITE are the finishes of choice when long lasting, hard, durable, colorized, textured surfaces are required. MARBLECRETE can only be trowel applied. MARBLETITE can be spray or trowel applied and can be floated to achieve a fine sanded texture. Both finish products preclude the need for paint, as color is integral throughout the finish. They are highly rot resistant and designed to be applied to cementitious base coats in a large variety of textures.

INSTALLATION

Surface Preparation
MARBLECRETE and MARBLETITE can be applied over the following surfaces:

A) PM Concentrate, PM Concentrate WS or a cement based plaster/stucco as specified in ASTM C-926-98 is required to establish a substrate. Adicote bonding agent should be used to enhance the mechanical bond and color uniformity prior to the application of the finish coat. Consult your local building code manual for scratch/brown coat thickness. MARBLECRETE and MARBLETITE cannot be applied directly to concrete block (CMU) surfaces.

B) Pour-in-place concrete is an acceptable substrate provided that all release agents have been cleaned, neutralized and a coating of Adicote bonding agent is applied prior to the application of the finish coat.

C) Unsound painted cementitious surfaces that show signs of chipping or peeling must be sandblasted and scratch coated prior to the application of the finish texture coats. All surfaces to be stuccoed must be absolutely free from dirt, grease, oil, dust and any other foreign material that may prevent proper bonding, and be without deficiencies so that the wall plane varies no more than ¼" in 12 feet. Control and/or expansion joints must be installed in accordance with the Portland Cement Association's standards to alleviate cracking.

MIXING

Measuring equal amounts of water and mixing for equal amounts of time from batch to batch will ensure product consistency from batch to batch. Boxing different batch #'s will ensure final color uniformity. MARBLECRETE and MARBLETITE will require approximately 2 ¼ to 2 ½ gallons of potable water per bag. Start the mixing
process by adding 2/3 of the total required water to the mixer. Add the appropriate amount of MARBLECRETE or MARBLETITE and then add the remaining 1/3 of the required water along with the pre-packaged liquid color. Mix for 5-8 minutes to bring the material to a workable consistency. Any addition of other materials could be harmful to the performance of the finished product. Keep tools and equipment clean between batches.

APPLICATION

The uniformity, color and finished results will depend on the proper preparation of the substrate and the consistency of mixing at the jobsite. Substrate and ambient temperatures must be between 45°F (7°C) and 100°F (38°C) during application and curing.

For all methods of application, the finish coat should be kept damp by
fogging or misting for 48 hours after application to ensure proper curing. If colored finish is used, do not fog or mist until the next morning.

LIMITATIONS

MARBLECRETE and MARBLETITE are not to be considered waterproofing products.
These products are cement based and as such, cracking or color variations are not considered product defects and are not warrantable.
Too much water or over wetting the mix will result in separation, texture
variation, color inconsistency, low strength and cracking.
DO NOT spray dark colors.
DO NOT float MARBLECRETE finishes.
