PM Concentrate CCP

DESCRIPTION

PM CONCENTRATE CCP is a fiber reinforced, factory blended, colored cement mixture designed as a highly water resistant cement plaster base and finish coat.
PM CONCENTRATE CCP
requires only the addition of water on the job site.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Greater crack resistance
Excellent workability
A hard, durable surface
Proven weather barrier
Improved stain resistance
Available in standard and custom
colors

COMPONENTS

PM CONCENTRATE CCP is made up of cement, lime, fiber strands, colored oxides, aggregate and other additives that enhance the performance of the product.

All components in the manufacturing of PM CONCENTRATE CCP meet the standards set forth in ASTM
C-926-98a.

USES

PM CONCENTRATE CCP is the product of choice when a superior, water resistant, cement plaster coating is desired. It has exceptional workability and the fiber reinforcing strands greatly reduce the possibility of cracking. PM CONCENTRATE CCP is an exceptional base/finish coat for new construction and renovation work.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surfaces to be coated should be inspected by the contractor and any unsatisfactory conditions should be reported and corrected prior to the application of PM CONCENTRATE CCP. All flashings, hangers, Fasteners, trim or other fixed supports shown on the plans, should be in place prior to application. Dust, dirt or loose particles should be removed from concrete or masonry surfaces prior to application. Masonry
surfaces should be uniformly moistened before the application. PM CONCENTRATE CCP should not be applied to surfaces that contain frost. Provisions should be made to keep PM CONCENTRATE CCP at a temperature of 45°F (7°C) to 100°F (38°C) during application and for a period of at least 48 hours after application.

Adicote bonding agent must be applied to all poured concrete or smooth concrete surfaces. Control and/or expansion joints should be installed in accordance with ASTM C-1063-99 to alleviate cracking from building component movement, shrinkage or stress. Location of control joints must be determined by the designer.

MIXING

Measuring equal amounts of water and mixing for equal amounts of time from batch to batch will ensure product consistency from batch to batch. Boxing different batch #'s will ensure final color uniformity. PM CONCENTRATE CCP will require approximately
1 - 1½ gallons of potable water per bag. Start the mixing process by adding 2/3 of the total required water to the mixer. Add the appropriate amount of PM CONCENTRATE CCP and then add the remaining 1/3 of the required water. Mix for approximately 5 - 8 minutes to bring the material to a workable consistency. Allow the mix to set for 5 minutes, then remix and add additional water if necessary to achieve the desired workable consistency. Do not retemper the mix after this.

APPLICATION

Note: The effectiveness of PM CONCENTRATE CCP depends upon proper application, curing and the conditions and preparation of the surface to which it is applied. Review Application Guidelines for substrate conditions and preparation. PM CONCENTRATE CCP should be applied to wire lath by sections to a minimum of ½" thickness using sufficient pressure to form a good bond. The finish texture must be applied while the base coat is still wet and according to the application specifications for the texture selected.

NOTE: To avoid abrupt changes in the uniform appearance of the succeeding coats,
PM CONCENTRATE CCP must be applied to an entire wall or ceiling panel without interruptions. The joining of wet product should be made at naturally occurring interruptions such as corners, control joints, or structure levels; otherwise, the stopping and starting joints may be visible through the finish texture.

Reference Premix-Marbletite application instructions entitled:
"Base Coat Stucco Products" for specific applications to selected substrates.

CURING

Proper hydration requires sufficient water, favorable temperatures and time. Newly installed walls should be protected from hot/dry winds or excessive ventilation. The temperature of the walls must be maintained above 45°F (7°C) and below 100°F (38°C) for no less than 48 hours after application. After application, the cement plaster should be considered as a thin section of Portland cement concrete.

LIMITATIONS

PM CONCENTRATE CCP is a cementitious product, and as such cracking or color variation is not to be considered a product defect. NEITHER CRACKING NOR COLOR VARIATION ARE WARRANTABLE.
