WONCOTE SUPREME is packaged
in 70 lb. pails and must be applied at a rate not to
exceed 50-150 square feet per pail. Coverage will vary
depending on the desired texture and the porosity of
the substrate.
Surface Preparation
A. Interior gypsum wallboard
must be taped and finished using the standard procedures
required to prepare the surface for painting.
B. Previously painted
substrates must be thoroughly scraped to remove all
loose or peeling paint. Not for use over oil or solvent
based coatings.
C. Wallpaper and adhesive
must be thoroughly removed from any substrate to be
coated.
D. All substrates must
be sealed with Acroprimer prior to the application of
WONCOTE SUPREME.
Trowel Application
Apply a 1/16" coat of WONCOTE
SUPREME over a sealed substrate and then double
back with a second application texturing to a uniform
thickness of 1/8" to 3/16". Always complete
each unbroken area in one operation, working a wet edge
towards a natural break to avoid cold joints and to
assure uniformity of color and texture. Avoid thick
coats which may cause cracking; if required, it should
be built up in successive coats to the necessary thickness.
Hopper Gun Application
WONCOTE SUPREME can be
spray applied using equipment designed for aggregated
coatings. The spray equipment manufacturer specifications
must be followed. Select the correct nozzle for the
aggregate size. Spray with a steady even stroke and
cover the entire surface while maintaining an even distance
from the wall. Knock down textures are created by lightly
flattening the larger droplets with a stainless steel
trowel. Always complete each unbroken area in one operation,
working a wet edge towards a natural break to avoid
cold joints and to assure uniformity of color and texture.
Avoid thick coats which may cause cracking; if required,
it should be built up in successive coats to the necessary
thickness.
