TILE-TITE lightweight
pre-mixed roof tile mortar is factory blended to meet
code requirements and to provide superior adhesion for
the installation of all profiles of both concrete and
clay roof tiles. It requires only the addition of water
at the job-site and proper mixing.
TILE-TITE is designed
for use as the mortar component in mortar set roof tile
systems. Its unique formulation and superior performance
covers all types of tiles and all tile profiles. TILE-TITE
mortar will reduce the weight of mortar
used on a roof up to 40% as compared to other mixes
and will provide increased bond strength.
TILE-TITE consists
of a blend of ASTM C91 mortar cement and ASTM C332 lightweight
aggregate. The blend strictly conforms to South Florida
Building Code requirements. It is approved under BCCD
Product Control approval number 94-0614.01.

Tested and approved performance |
 |
Greater bond strength to both roofing
and tiles than sanded mixes |
 |
Higher water holding capacity allows
more time for development of
bond to tile and allows more time for cement to
hydrate properly |
 |
Lightweight reduces dead load of tile
systems on roof |
 |
Easier and safer to handle, mix and
place on roof |
 |
Fewer bags required at jobsite |
 |
Less lifting; one 40lb. bag of TILE-TITE
is equal to over 140 lbs. of
sanded mix |
 |
TILE-TITE
is more economical
to use than sanded mixes |
One bag of TILE-TITE
when properly mixed will yield approximately 1.18 cubic
feet of mortar. The number of TILE-TITE
bags required for one cubic yard
(27cu. Ft.) is 23 bags.
The number of bags required per square (100
sq. ft.) will vary according to tile profile
and amount of material used for each tile.
TILE-TITE should
be applied over properly installed roofing membranes
as governed by applicable code requirements. The roofing
membranes must be fully intact and be free of any debris
or foreign matter that would interfere with the bond
between the roofing and the mortar.
TILE-TITE comes
pre-blended in 40 lb. Bags. First add about 5 gallons
of potable water per bag into the mixer. With mixer
turning, add TILE-TITE
bags and mix until a homogeneous and good working consistency
is reached, adding water as necessary. Mix a minimum
of 5 minutes. When properly mixed TILE-TITE
will appear slightly "wetter" than sanded
mortar mixes.
After TILE-TITE
has been properly mixed it should be applied to a minimum
of a full 10" masons trowel for each tile. Different
tile will require different adhesion patterns. Tile
should be placed on the TILE-TITE
mortar within 5 minutes.
Clean all tools and equipment with water while still
wet. Cured material can be removed mechanically or chemically.
TILE-TITE must
be kept dry and stored in a dry place. Keep covered
at the jobsite.
This product contains masonry cement and vermiculite.
